These are some photos from my latest portrait session. I’ve written previously that taking pictures of children is challenging and this time was no different. Getting everyone to look my way at the same time is nearly impossible.
Given that I do most of my photography outdoors in different locations, I guess that’s unavoidable as there are a lot of distractions in addition to most small children having an attention span of five seconds.
No problem, just go with the flow, pretty much sums up my shooting style. Some shots are set up and some are more spontaneous. Sometimes, actually many times, the shots I like the best are the ones where the kids are doing their own thing. Being curious or silly, or irritated that everyone is trying to get them to sit still, look at me and smile. What two year old wants to do that when there’s a muddy puddle ten feet away? Especially when they’re wearing their best outfits!
After about an hour of walking around finding interesting backgrounds, trying to get the little ones to co-operate with pleading, bribery and stern looks, I’ve got a pretty good selection to add to their family album.
Anyone interested in booking a portrait session on Grand Bahama, just let me know.
Peace.
